R.E.A.P. Bible

From the very beginning of time itself, God showed his desire to spend time with his people. He walked WITH Adam and Even in the Garden. All throughout the Bible we learn that God calls us to him, to walk WITH him.  One day, he will call his followers to heaven, he "will take us to himself".  We will be WITH him.

James 4:8 says, "Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you."  What an incredible promise this.  What a blessing this is!  When we come to Scripture, our desire is to "draw near to God".  We want to spend time with him.

The Bible is God's words.  We learn in 2 Timothy 3:16, that "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." When we spend time in the Bible, we will R.E.A.P. a harvest.

As we come to the word, here's a quick strategy to use.  (We'll expand on each of these in further posts.)

R - Read
E - Examine
A - Apply
P - Pray

As we draw near to God, He will draw near to us!
