    2nd Sunday of Advent

This morning we continue in our Christmas series… looking at the person of Jesus… why he came, how much he loves us, and why it all matters! Today we will look in a rather unlikely place, the book of Revelation. Revelation describes a battle that is been raging since the beginning of time... a Battle that continues to affect you and me, and literally every area of our lives.

Praise God that we have a savior, a rescuer, and a hope that goes beyond the battle!

Poor Start – Ups Lead to Poor Destinartions
What's the big deal about participating in non-Christian religious ceremonies?  First, God prohibits it, so it's disobedience.  Second, it begins a a subtle religious blending that moves people away from fully believing in the true God and toward believing in a mentally-created hybrid that's half God and half other god-concepts.  Third, it exalts our own religious wisdom over God's perfect wisdom as to what's best for us.  And...our country is full of folks that have inadvertently followed this path.  Why would a person do that?  I'll explain this phenomena from my own personal family history.  It's a bigger temptation for a lot of us than you might think at first glance.

This morning we come to first Corinthians chapter 7. We will be looking at the first 16 verses. The apostle Paul talks about marriage, singleness, divorce, sex, and the tempting of the evil one. In his refreshing style, he tackles issues head on! May the Lord encourage our hearts as we study his word together today.

    Study of 1 Corinthians – Week 5

This morning we take a look at 1 Corinthians 5 & 6. The church, it seemed, was acting more like people who did not know God, than people who did! Paul is very straightforward about church discipline and Christian behavior. It seems that the Lord does care about how we live our lives! And it matters to a watching world...
