Continued Look at “Core Convictions”
This morning we’ll continue to look at some “core convictions," revisiting the importance of having a biblical world view. We will draw from the life and conviction of Daniel.  Even though he lived around 600 B.C., the culture and challenges from his situation and ours in 2020 are incredibly similar.  Daniel was a powerful figure who walked in humility and grace, and held fiercely to his faith in God.

    The Hope of God’s Plans
Happy new year!  This morning as we gather around the Lords table, we’ll take a look at a beloved and oft quoted verse from Jeremiah 29:11. “For I know the plans I have for you” says the Lord, “they are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

Three Prominent Roles of the Old Testament
Thanks for joining us in worship today! The Scriptures give us so many wonderful descriptions of our Lord Jesus Christ.  This morning we’ll be looking back at the Old Testament and three prominent roles:  those of prophet, priest and king. Each of these is perfectly and fully fulfilled in the person and work of Christ.  Beyond that, we’ll discover how they encourage us in our walk of faith.

First Sunday of Advent – Know the Backstory and Celebrate the Season
Today we gather around the table of our Lord and celebrate the first Sunday of Advent.  The Christmas season is upon us!  As we celebrate communion, we’ll consider two thoughts:  know the backstory and celebrate the season!
May the Lord encourage our hearts today.

Ecclesiastes – “The End of the Matter”
Today we finish looking at the book of Ecclesiastes focusing on “the end of the matter.”  Our text is found in chapter 12, the final chapter. The teacher has been philosophical, practical and skeptical.  He now draws his thinking back to the One who transcends; who alone can help us make sense of it all.

Ecclesiastes – Guard Our Steps as We Go to the House of the LORD
We return to the book of Ecclesiastes this week.  We will look at chapter 5 as we gather around the table of our Lord.  It begins by instructing us to “guard our steps as we go to the house of the Lord.” Solomon reminds us to come here and listen, rather than offer a “sacrifice of fools."  Let’s pray that the Lord speaks to us this morning.

Ecclesiastes – What is the LORD saying?
Ecclesiastes is a fascinating book of the Bible.  It has been found difficult to interpret properly, mainly because of the author's range of emotions. He’s found on one hand talking about the meaninglessness of life and on the other about the goodness of God! We’ll take a look at what the Lord is saying to us through Solomon over the next couple weeks.

    Know God
Knowing God's will is complex.  Knowing God is more important and two thirds of the answer to knowing God's will. Over the years it's been my experience that Christians who focus on knowing God, rarely ask what is God's will for my life; because knowing God gives us assurance, confidence, clarity of vision and an elusive gem called wisdom.  So this morning I want to focus on knowing God.  Next week we'll focus more specifically on knowing God's will.

    Knowing God’s Will
What is God's will is a question we all are prone to ask. Can we know God’s will? And how do we go about discerning exactly what that is? These are common questions with which Christians wrestle. We’ll ponder those questions for the next two weeks.
If you’re hearing this, I'm confident that it’s His will that you’ve come this morning.
