Poor Start – Ups Lead to Poor Destinartions
What's the big deal about participating in non-Christian religious ceremonies?  First, God prohibits it, so it's disobedience.  Second, it begins a a subtle religious blending that moves people away from fully believing in the true God and toward believing in a mentally-created hybrid that's half God and half other god-concepts.  Third, it exalts our own religious wisdom over God's perfect wisdom as to what's best for us.  And...our country is full of folks that have inadvertently followed this path.  Why would a person do that?  I'll explain this phenomena from my own personal family history.  It's a bigger temptation for a lot of us than you might think at first glance.

    Study of 1 Corinthians – Week 5

This morning we take a look at 1 Corinthians 5 & 6. The church, it seemed, was acting more like people who did not know God, than people who did! Paul is very straightforward about church discipline and Christian behavior. It seems that the Lord does care about how we live our lives! And it matters to a watching world...

    Study of 1 Corinthians – Week 4

The church at Corinth was smack in the middle of a culture that was known for all kinds of ungodly behavior. Paul had spent a year and a half there sharing the Good News and outlining how to live for Christ. This morning we take time to consider how we live for our Lord in a very similar culture.

    Study of 1 Corinthians – Week 3

This morning we continue in the study of 1 Corinthians. Paul, after an exhausting and frustrating ministry in Athens, reminds the church that the Gospel has power. A power that doesn't come from the wisdom of man, nor from his ability to reason, nor his intellect, but it's power emanates from the essence of the cross and the heart of God...which is foolishness to the unbeliever and life to the one who trusts.
