Our Purpose The purpose of the Music Ministry is to lead the congregation in authentic, biblical, passionate worship of our Holy God. We use our God-given gifts and abilities, as we are called, to lead the procession of praise, worship and adoration of the Lord. As the Holy Spirit leads, we perform our best as lead worshippers. Through His grace, we aim to provide an atmosphere which allows worshippers to be drawn into the reality and mighty presence of God. |

Opportunities Our worship gatherings utilize mostly contemporary music, but also incorporate older hymns of the faith and classical music. There are opportunities for musically gifted servants in several areas. Solo vocalists or instrumentalists are invited to serve with or without accompanists or tracks. We also have Women's and Men's choirs who practice regularly and join worship services (no audition is required). We currently have two Praise and Worship Teams, one primarily for Saturday night service and one for both Sunday morning services. We are interested in forming another praise team, and servants for any team are always being sought, especially instrumentalists. Auditions are generally required for praise team membership. Finally, our technical team manages the sound board, records the services, provides the presentation graphics, and oversees stage equipment. A Servant's Heart Anyone who leads in Praise and Worship must have a servant's heart. As a firm believer in Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, you should be committed to Beacon as your church home, you need to be a "team" player, and you must demonstrate good basic musical skills (vocal or instrumental). Ability to read music is not required but can be helpful. Committed to Him Serving on a praise team requires a significant commitment. Each team practices together one night a week and prior to church services, and then leads worship for either one Saturday or two Sunday services. We also encourage team members to practice individually during the week to enhance their skills. Opportunities and resources for learning are also provided, including attendance at worship conferences.
