A gathering of the Mission Committee and the 2007 Katrina Relief group.
Our mission and purpose
We seek to support the Beacon Evangelical Free Church as it ministers to people who need to be shown the love of Jesus Christ. We recognize that God sends people out to minister locally and in foreign fields. It is our hope to send out servants from among us, who listen for God's call and are willing to go abroad. Such a call invovles spiritual, emotional and financial support and we stand ready to facilitate any individual or family going out from among us.

Our Objectives
  • Educate and inform our congregation about God's command for missions (Matthew 28:19-20 and Acts 1:8).
  • Encourage our congregation to follow God's call on their lives, whether it is to a local vocation or a foreign field.
  • Promote short and long term mission opportunities for the Beacon family.
  • Evaluate requests from potential missionaries.
  • Serve as a communication link between our missionaries and the Beacon family.
  • Oversee the mission budget.
Our Extended Family

We support missionaries outside the Beacon family, and consider them part of the extended family. Each of these missionaries is considered on a case by case basis, prayerfully considering how the Lord would have us involved.
